We landed!

In my homeland. Rocky top, Tennessee. We got in late last night and felt pretty wild when the hot chocolate came out…DSC02262

But since Anthony is the master mixologist of my family, only a few minutes passed before the hard stuff took the stage.

In other news, my parent’s house has turned into Toyland!

For Mr. T and Princess Leah. My sister’s kids are so beautiful. Also I would like a flannel onesie for Christmas.

How do kids have so much energy? Anthony and I got out for a run yesterday after sleeping 9 hours the night before, AND STILL needed a nap in the afternoon…? Vacation brain has set in, I guess.

‘Twas a good, and surprisingly warm, jog. It’s funny thinking back to when I ran these streets in high school — at a much slower pace! Fun running fact of the day is that women actually peak in terms of speed and strength around their 30s. Only a few more years till I’m clocking marathons like cake! But really, you can read more about it here and here.

Vacation and the holiday season is cause enough for celebration, but my sister in law is now a graduated nurse practitioner! Champagne and ice cream cake for all.

It’s 11:30, I’m still in my PJs, and there are a ton of Christmas gifts under the tree. I can tell it’s going to be a good day.

  • Do you like champagne?
  • Last graduation you walked in?
  • Best instant hot chocolate mix?

  1. How nice to have a master mixologist and a running partner for a boyfriend!! I’ll admit it – I’m a little jealous! Looks like you’re having fun on vacation!

I’m always encouraged when I hear that women get faster when they get older (you know, up to a point) – Boston here I come… in 10 years! :)

As for best hot coco. I mean, I love a good mint or peppermint hot chocolate, but usually I do the Swiss Miss Diet packets. I know, I know – but I can have like four cups and not feel bad! And after standing outside all day, sometimes that’s exactly what I do!
