dangermuffin & buffalo chicken

Happy Friday!

I am writing this at 5:30 a.m. and we are feeling GREAT after staying up too late last night partying. We went to The Hamilton to see a band I’ve been listening to lately called Dangermuffin. They were fun!

6-P1010551We also really liked the 19th Street Band, a DC group who opened for them.
5-P1010546All this fiddlin’ and guitar playin’ took me back to my Tennessee roots. And a cheesy pizza took me to heaven.4-P1010541Did I mention I have a half marathon tomorrow? Carb load.3-P1010539Life isn’t all pizza and beer, though. I usually try to boost my meal plan to a healthier level… which brings me to the week’s salad:7-_DSC0694Buffalo chicken! Anthony and I have been obsessed with Ragtime’s buffalo chicken salad so I had to try and recreate it. I think I got pretty close!9-_DSC0698I combined this recipe and this recipe. The chicken was surprisingly easy to “buffalo”-ize. 8-_DSC0697The big secret was the creamy dressing, which is actually yogurt-based and also quite simple. Accompanied by gorgonzola cheese, carrots, celery, green onions, red pepper, and romaine.
