wedding recap part iv: the ceremony

(View wedding post 1 here, post 2 here, and post 3 here!)

Let me interrupt this dreary day with a flashback to the warm, sunny, late-summer day Anthony and I got married…We held our ceremony at The Church of the Assumption, in Nashville’s Germantown neighborhood.church_of_the_assumption_nashville_-061It’s an old, historic church that is full of charm and romance. We didn’t even need to decorate it very much — our moms had the brilliant idea to add some lovely bows to the pews for added beauty!

You can tell he’s focusing hard :).  Mission accomplished! 04-anthony-mary-wedding-065Our flower girl Leah gave a spectacular performance!03-anthony-mary-wedding-064We had a full Catholic mass, which was traditional yet very casual at the same time. Anthony and I really enjoyed sitting together at the alter and taking it all in.church_of_the_assumption_nashville_-073One cool part of the ceremony was when the priest gave us a special prayer with our parents’ blessings. We are pretty lucky.church_of_the_assumption_nashville_-071We did it!!
