Hi! How’s your weekend going? Mine kicked off with a run:Short, fast, and sweet? After that, Anthony’s birthday celebrations began! His big day is on Monday, but we’re starting festivities early. First on the birthday boy’s wish list: THOR.For a manly action movie, I actually thought it was pretty good! I’ll always be a comedy/chick flick/drama person, but sometimes it’s fun to sit through loud and violent monster destruction film. Right?
After the movie we headed to Calypso Cafe for a late lunch. We inhaled everything because 1) we were starving and 2) the food was really, really good. I went for the “beans and three” plate — black beans, cornbread, collard greens, and sweet potatoes.Up next was one of Anthony’s other favorite things: CARS.We don’t have a car in DC, but often day dream about the day we’ll own one. A Nissan Rogue would be especially nice!We chatted with the sales guy and semi-pretended we might buy a car, so he let us test drive one!Of course we didn’t buy it, but it was fun pretending :).
Another Anthony favorite: WINE. We had a little time to kill, so popped in this little shop in East Nashville to see what they had on hand.Of course we ended up buying a bottle. You can never have too much wine!
We worked up a thirst at the store, so then headed to Rumours East to drink! Ian (our wedding photographer) and his wife met us for some good wine and cocktails.Didn’t take us long to empty our glasses…Even though Ian wasn’t ‘on the job,’ he still took a photo for us 😉 !(ps see the red mark near my neck? That’s what happens when your running jacket doesn’t have a cloth-lined zipper)
Anyways… TACOS.The last stop on our Nashville adventure: Taco Mamacita.I’ve thought long and hard about this statement, and I’ve decided that I’m ready to make this announcement:
This was the best taco I’ve had in my entire life. What a fun day.
- Do you drive a car? If so, what kind?
- Tacos: hard or soft?
- What city do you live in?
