XL run, XL beers, and 0-60 mph in 5 seconds

Hi team! Happy February. I kicked off the new month with the DC Road Runners on a big ole run.DSC04346Our route was supposed to be just shy of 14 miles — but we made some adjustments to avoid the ice and I ran to/fro the meeting point… meaning I came in just shy of 16! I haven’t run that far in a while. It felt good.DSC04353Our route went from Arlington through Rock Creek Park…DSC04352and all the way to Beach Drive — one of my favorite weekend roads!DSC04350I fell right into pace with a group of three guys who had some pretty cool stories to share.  We all fell a bit quiet during the last mile or so, but pushed each other to finish. Like a team!

A blurry but beautiful sun. (My camera has been bonking out lately, due to its long life and/or the freezing temps)DSC04347I’m a little sore today, but not so bad!

I can get pretty far by foot, but I think this car would probably move me around a lot faster. P1010619This was just one of many beauties Anthony and I witnessed at the Washington Auto Show on Friday. He loves cars and had a blast checking out all the different models/brands. I spent most of the time sitting in my dream car (Fiat 500) and imagining I lived in Italy. P1010617Anthony liked the Infiniti Q50, which goes from 0 to 60 mph in 5.2 seconds.P1010620I’m not really a car person, but it was actually pretty cool to walk around and see all the sweet rides. Maybe one day we won’t have to ride the Orange Line, 54, S2, and Circulators around town because we will have an actual vehicle? A girl can dream.

Fake driving followed by real drinking:P1010622We caught up with our friends Will and Kristen at Circa in Foggy Bottom on Friday night. This apple-cinnamon cocktail rocked (and gave me squinty eyes).P1010624Round two (Saturday night): an XL-sized Tecate at Bar Pilar.P1010629And this really neat, almost non-alcoholic grapefruit “beer” which was sweet, fizzy, and delicious. So good it deserves a vertical photo slot.

Today’s goals: Take it easy on the booze, take it easy on the legs, and take it hard on the taco dip. Super Bowl here we come!

  • Favorite flavored or unusual beer?
  • Locals: Favorite DC street (not trail) to run on?
  • What’s your dream car?
  • Bonus question: Who are you cheering for today?!

  1. Oh my gosh!!! I was supposed to be at that group run…but instead chose to let the hubby sleep in and cuddled with my little one. Next time for sure, I’ll be there : )
My favorite flavored Cider is Pear!!!
