a new orleans run

A quick hello from New Orleans!IMG_2692I arrived yesterday evening and have been go, go, going since. This morning I popped outside for a quick jog around the city streets. Beautiful sunrise along the river!IMG_2683New Orleans has a pretty neat waterfront trail that was packed with other joggers this morning. I felt right at home :)IMG_2687I also wove through some little streets that were crammed with bars and neon lights.IMG_2691… and I finished off the route with a stop at The Ruby Slipper Cafe, where I picked up one heck of a breakfast sandwich._DSC0173And now, I’m off for more southern fun. I might catch you from the airport later!

  • Tips for things to do in my remaining 10 hours in NOLA?
  • Breakfast sandwich: bagel, biscuit, or toast?
  • When was the last time you visited the South?

  1. Pop over to The Warehouse Grille for a fantastic Bloody Mary, Chartres Street for some cute vintage shops, The Napoleon House for a sazerac, or Felix’s Oyster Bar for top-notch New Orleans eats :) — or just wander aimlessly and enjoy all the music!

    • I did do some wandering, and am already back at the airport :( but hoping to be back soon to try those spots!

  2. Those pictures look great! I am going to New Orleans tomorrow and was looking into good places to run. From your pictures it looks like you were in Woldenberg Park along the river, and then just around the French Quarter? Do you have any specific recommendations for routes or places to hit?

  3. It looks so pretty there! I would love to visit! I prefer plain old toast for breakfast (boring). The last time I was in the South was last year when I lived in Auburn, Alabama. It was such a beautiful city, I felt like the sky was more blue there and the stars were brighter. I definitely miss it!
