still in summer mode

This morning started out pretty dark…IMG_4763But ended bright!IMG_4782I ran 3 miles solo, and then met up with East Nasty for 5 more.IMG_4781We did a hilly route (locals: ever run up Lillian St? It is a beast) that involved a pretty lake view.IMG_3931To pass the time, my little 8-8:20 crew talked about our favorite ladies’ running brands. Our favorites: Gap Fit, Athleta, Nike, and Lululemon. I also gave Fabletics a vote because I scored a sports bra, these capris, and tank top for only $30, and all of them actually fit well and didn’t fall apart. And because who doesn’t love Kate Hudson?!

What are you favorite brands?

After I parted with the group, I tacked on two more. Done!IMG_4783The best part about the run? It was a cool 60-some degrees out. I guess this means fall is coming!

Speaking of which, I know that everyone is flooding the interwebs with pumpkin and apple recipes in anticipation. But hello, it’s still sort of summer and I’m sticking with summer berries while they’re still on sale at Kroger.fruit_and_yogurt_DSC0040Today’s breakfast: a berry-beautiful bowl of yogurt. I’m very specific about my Greek yogurt and really prefer Fage 2% over all other yogurts in the world.

BUT, since my Kroger doesn’t carry it (shame on them), I improvised this week by mixing fat-free Chobani with full-fat Greek Gods to reach the perfect level of creaminess. Yes I am crazy.chobani_greek_gods_DSC0045A bit of honey and some coconut granola (yep, definitely still in summer mode) to tie it all together. fruit_and_yogurt_DSC0041Have a sweet day!

  • Any other particular yogurt people out there? Favorite brands?
  • Favorite brand of athletic gear?
  • Favorite brand of… something else?

  1. I’m a fan of the Noosa yogurt… It’s so delicious, but the sugar content is pretty high. :( I’ve also been eating plain full-fat yogurt with frozen berries. It’s a little tart, but I’m working on it. Love the Lulu & Nike & Reebok the best.

  2. Hey, Mary!

Thanks for sharing. Happy to see you were enjoying some Chobani in your quest to hang on to summer. We’re with ya!

    Cheers,
    Ashley @Chobani

  3. Have you tried Oiselle? I have the Distance Shorts and they’re amazing! I hear everything else is great too. Just joined their running team – The Flock! And you are making me miss Krogers – we don’t have it up here in the Northeast.
