Hello! I’m on a plane to New Orleans right now but am checking in with a fun survey! Jen from Jen Chooses Joy tagged me in this “running favorites” lineup. Here are my answers — let me know yours in the comments section!
1. Favorite running location?
It’d be way to difficult to pin down one specific spot! I think I can narrow my favorite locations down to two general types: trails and track. I love them both for different reasons. Trails because they’re beautiful and a complete escape:and track because it’s one of the truest tests of fitness. 2. Time of day?
No-brainer. Morning!! Nothing beats a good sunrise.3. Ideal weather?
50-55 and sunny. I know a lot of runners prefer overcast days, especially for racing. But I think that clear skies lift my spirits and make me speedier than grey ones. The weather during last year’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Nashville race was perfect!
Before a run, I like to have toast and coffee. I’m actually eating that at this very moment as I type. My computer keyboard is full of crumbs.During a long run, I’ll take Gu and water. Not picky about Gu flavors — they all taste pretty gross to me. Afterward, I’ll eat anything but especially love eggs!5. Accessories?
Pretty standard: a Garmin, good shoes, and sunglasses. I used to be into running with music, but stopped and became a zen runner about two years ago. Oh, and I always run with my phone to take pictures for you guys!
Naps and shopping. Nothing like a post-run nap or post-run spending spree. These are my favorite things in the world. That was fun — thanks for the opportunity, Jen!
Speaking of opportunities, here’s an announcement: I’m a Zooma Nashville ambassador! This women’s race is coming to Nashville in early November and I can’t wait to run it. So excited that Nashville is a new location for this race series!
I actually did Zooma Annapolis a couple years ago and had a blast. You should come run Zooma Nash with me! Use the code Mary15 for a 10% registration discount. See you at the start line 😉
Have a great weekend!
