Hello! I’m about to kick off track Tuesday, but first I’m writing this post extra early to talk about Monday. Yesterday’s run almost didn’t happen after we overslept by about 45 minutes… but I somehow managed to get myself together and get out the door in time! And by in time, I mean about 7:00 am. Which is early enough to get me to work on time, but too late to avoid the heat! I just kept chugging along and tried to nix those negative thoughts from my head. I was doing pretty well until about mile five, when I had to climb the Hill of Death out of Shelby Park and just wanted to start walking. Unfortunately/Fortunately I knew that wasn’t an option since I had to get home ASAP, though! So I pushed on and finished all seven miles. Tough but done. The end.
On the plus side, everything else yesterday seemed really easy in comparison. Especially dinner! We made a simple summer meal last night — citrus/soy-grilled chicken and grilled corn, plus a peach-cucumber salsa. So fresh! The chicken was tangy-sweet and smoky. And hot, if you’re one of those people who put hot sauce on everything! (ANTHONY)Time to go run some laps! Have a great morning!
