weekend wrap-up

Ugh: Rainy Monday!1026150655Not the prettiest run of my life, but at least the gloomy weather waited until the weekend was over. Also, it’s way too dark outside in the mornings. Time to bust out the old headlamp…1026150650Anthony and I covered five miles around the streets of East Nashville. After four months of rigid (okay, semi-rigid…) marathon training, it feels nice to just go out and run for fun. No goals!

How was your weekend? Ours was super low key. I even took a nap on Saturday! After I knocked out a run, of course. I met a ZOOMA runner at Fleet Feet in Green Hills for an early jog. fleet feet green hills nashville tnSince our paces were so different, we ended up not running together — but it was still nice to have a running buddy nearby and the Fleet Feet team to cheer us on!
I haven’t run through Green Hills before. Look at all of those big trees.1024150809PS – congrats to everyone who ran Ragnar & Marine Corps (shout out to Sokphal & Corey!) over the weekend! If you raced, tell me how you did in the comments section :)1024150830On Saturday night, Anthony and I headed to The Filling Station for our usual weekend happy hour…
and then came home to the kitchen! On the menu: Thai drunken noodles a la Cook Smarts. With one more (foamy!) beer 😉thai drunken noodles with chickenThis meal came together pretty quickly (I’d prepped most of it earlier in the day) and I used brown rice noodles + extra veggies to make it healthy-ish.thai drunken noodles with chickenPlus some sriracha to amp up the spice. So many kids! I love it. 1025151821aThat’s a wrap!

  • Did you race this weekend? Tell me about it!
  • Burrito bowl, burrito, salad, or tacos?!
  • Headlamp: yay or nay?

  1. I raced my third half-marathon with a PR! After a week of battling what felt like the flu, I was really pleased with a 1:50 time. I’m usually a Chipotle salad girl, but lately I’ve been obsessed with their tacos. Haven’t had much use for a headlamp, but I think they are a definite “yay” for those who need to run during the dark hours of the morning/night! And those drunken noodles look amazing!

  2. I ran the Cocoa Beach Half Marathon in FL! Got a 9 minute PR so I’m pretty happy about that!!

    Burrito all the way.

Headlamp yes! Even in my neighborhood with street lamps. I feel like it helps me be seen by cars, and I’m hoping it will keep me on my streak of running through zero spider webs.

  3. No race this weekend…….it’s 19 days away though!!

I have used a headlamp but I don’t really like running with it.

And I love all tex-mex and mexican food. Well, pretty much all of it!
