my facebook live debut + saturday run recap

If you’ve been reading this blog for a while, you’ll know that I’m obsessed with Swiftwick socks! They’re the best socks in the world.

The company is actually based here in Nashville so I was honored to tour their offices a while back.

Tonight I’m joining the Swiftwick team and local trainer Garrett McLaughlin for a seminar on functional training for distance runners. If you’re in Nashville you can come to the free session yourself or anyone can tune in and watch because Swiftwick will be broadcasting Garrett and me LIVE on their Facebook pageStart time is 6:45 CST, and you can watch me be awkward on camera for the first 10 minutes of the session. Can’t wait.

Speaking of functional training, that’s what was on the menu for this morning. After yesterday’s run, it felt good to get a workout with air conditioning! :)

I still have a run to share, though! On Saturday I met up with the PR Bandits to run along the Brentwood trails. Took me back to my high school days (I grew up in this Nashville suburb).

I had to wake up a painful hour to drive down to meet the group at 6, but it felt so good to beat the heat and be done shortly after 7 :)

The trail was nice and flat and I had some friends to keep me company as the miles flew by. The route was 9.5 miles but I cut it short at 8. Eight seems to be my lucky long run number lately.

All done! After a series of really slow and hot runs, Saturday’s was a good one.

And that’s all I’ve got for you! Hope to see you in person or online later today :)

  1. I love those trails! When we visit I run everyday there! My in-laws live on one end and my sister in law lives 10 trail miles away-during marathon training I run from one house to the other and they leave me a water in their mailbox for my halfway point!
