Friday! We slept in and had just enough time for a short run.
It’s MUGGY out there so Anthony and I took this run super easy. No goals at all other than to finish and not die. Now that I think of it, I don’t think we saw a single other runner out there this morning.
Now it’s time to start the weekend
Anthony had a work event last night so I was on my own for the evening! I met a friend for a walk around the neighborhood and then threw together a “single girl” dinner in about 10 minutes when I got back.
Black beans and peppers sauteed with some taco seasoning. Topped with an egg and some Mexican-style fixins’. I guess this falls somewhere between huevos rancheros and black bean nachos? Put salsa and cheese on anything and it qualifies as a meal.
Paired with an episode of The Mindy Project and my latest book (I gave up on City on Fire…), The Girl With All of the Gifts! Has anyone else read it?
Speaking of reading, here are a few articles I thought I’d share for the weekend.
- Running While Pregnant: How Sarah Brown Trained for the Olympics During Pregnancy: I know a lot of you like Run Mama Run when I shared it the other week so thought you might be interested in this Runner’s Connect podcast interview! I haven’t listened yet but I’m fascinated by Sarah’s journey.
- 5 of the Best Functional Movements for Runners: I really loved listening to local trainer Garrett McLaughlin the other day and am now obsessed with his blog! Lots of great tips on proper form and strength/mobility exercises for runners and for life in general. Plus the how-to videos are really helpful.
- What is American Cheese, Anyway? What is American Cheese, Anyway? For all of you who have heard tales of “government cheese” and other weird stories about Kraft Singles-styles cheese (or cheese product), this is worth a read!
See you on Monday!
