morning walk + weekend plans

Friday! What are your plans for the weekend? We have a yoga adventure coming up tomorrow and are keeping things low-key otherwise. Hopefully we’ll have good weather for some walks!


Which is what was on the menu for this morning. I was awake hanging out with Melissa until late in the night (which means past 9 pm) and Anthony was at the Titans game because, you know, we’re huge football fans ;). So we slept in a bit and took it easy with a neighborhood stroll this morning.


What’s that white beauty leaning against the street sign behind us? A free fluorescent light! AND A COMPUTER! On Riverside Drive if you’re in the market.


Other than connecting with my inner yogi and spending some time outside this weekend, we’ll hopefully just hang out at home reading, watching TV, and trying some new recipes. Here’s what’s on my list lately:

Books — have been all about baby lately! I just finished Mayo Clinic’s Guide to a Healthy Pregnancy and am currently reading Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child. Next on the list is Mayo Clinic’s Guide to Baby’s First Year. I thought the healthy pregnancy one was great. Healthy sleep is going okay but is a little intense. Also, reading about sleeping before bed makes you even more likely to fall asleep ;). Anthony started the baby’s first year book and likes it so far. Other recommendations?


TV — We recently discovered Arrested Development and it’s hilarious. Sometimes I just think about a scene during the day and chuckle to myself — do you guys ever do that? I’ve also been keeping up with Mindy Project (my “Anthony’s out of town” show) and just started Nurse Jackie! Do you like my little cast of characters collage I made? These are my fictional friends.


Recipes — I think it’s time to make a real pumpkin pie (with a real pumpkin, not the canned stuff! Promise it’s worth it), Anthony’s been wanting to make chicken tikka masala at home (in an effort to reduce our almost-weekly trips to Taj Indian Palace), and I’ve also been hitting the soup recipes hard lately. We’ll see how much I can whip up this weekend! Maybe I’ll just sit around and eat Pumpkin Spice Mini Wheats though. They’re addictive.  food

  1. My favorite cereal is apple jacks or multi grain cheerios. And I think of Psych or Friends references all the time and laugh. And also Napoleon Dynamite. That’s some funny stuff!
    PS, if you haven’t seen psych, add it to your list. First season is a slow build, but it gets hilarious. Gus is my favorite character.
