pregnancy survey: 34 weeks

It’s been a while since I did a pregnancy update! Maybe this will be my last one before the big day?! Here’s a snapshot of 34 weeks!

Due date: Still set for February 13th

Baby is the size of a: Savoy cabbage!

Total weight gain: 14 pounds and counting. Baby is growing fast in this third trimester!

Exercise: I got the all-clear to run and do high-impact exercise a little over a month ago, which was great news. Back on the run and at my favorite boot camp class (with some modifications, of course). I’ve been feeling a little more tired than usual but not nearly as exhausted as during the first trimester. Most days I find time to fit in some sort of workout, whether it be a 25-minute jog or hour-long fitness class.

Stretch marks: None

Swelling: None

Maternity clothes: Ugh, don’t get me started on maternity clothes. I’m so tired of shopping for overpriced and often out-of-stock maternity clothes online, waiting weeks for them to arrive, and then having to return them because they don’t fit! Some stores only let you return by mail, not in store, which is outrageous. I’m considering starting my own maternity activewear company with free shipping, three-day delivery, and free returns — anyone want to be my business partner? :) At this point I figure I’m on the home stretch so have stopped shopping for much of anything. Just have to squeeze into what I have for six more weeks!

Belly button: Still an innie!

Sleep: This is probably the biggest change I’ve noticed in the past couple of weeks. I wake up constantly to go to the bathroom and can never get comfortable sleeping on my side. I wake up with sore hips in the morning!

Food cravings: Haven’t really had any lately. Just hungry in general all the time :)

Movement: Lots, especially at night when I sit still. Hoping baby girl is wiggling herself toward the proper position for labor!

Labor signs: None yet…

What I miss: Sleeping on my back. And beer!

What I’m loving: That we’re getting close to the due date! We have our stroller and car seat ready and are starting to stock up on diapers, wipes, and all the other must-have items for when she arrives.

Best moment: We’re doing a hospital tour tomorrow and meeting a couple of pediatricians over the next week or so. And taking a birth class this weekend. Lots of learning in preparation for the big arrival.

What I’m looking forward to: Baby’s birthday!
