kangaroos, cake, crazy hills {australia part 2}

Hello! Our time in Brisbane is blowing by. I’ll try to catch you up as quickly as I can :)

Starting with lots of running! So many babysitters + beautiful weather means that Anthony and I have been able to get outside for a jog just about every day.

A few years ago I wrote about Brisbane’s insane hills. They are still here.

On the plus side, the inclines do lead to some beautiful lookouts! On a cool, rainy morning Anthony and I climbed our way up Mt. Coot-tha.

Another day, another trail.

I’ll end the running recap with a few Garmin photos. The hills, heat, and my mother-in-law’s homemade cookies might be catching up with me…

Speaking of family, that’s what this trip is all about! We’ve been spending lots of time with everyone and introducing A to her Australian relatives. On Sunday we had a big baptism + first birthday bash for the little one. So proud of her!

Which is more impressive: The hair bow above or the cake below?! Beautiful all around.

A trip to Australia wouldn’t be complete without a koala!

And kangaroos of course.

Other animals spotted at the zoo: Wombats, dingoes, and cassowaries.

Nap time is coming to an end and it’s time for another iced coffee. Goodbye and g’day for now!

  1. Have you ventured up (or down) Powerful Owl at Mt Cootha? I have done it a couple of times recently as we are training for a trail marathon in NZ – it is brutal!
